Greg Heffley keeps a journal (not a diary!) of his first year in middle-school. There are stories of trials and triumphs and mishaps as well as the common awkward moments one experiences in middle school. The informal text truly reads like a journal, with hand drawn pictures included. The reader can't help but laugh at the various antics in the book.
